The Firehouse Art Gallery was lively on Friday afternoon, with patrons turning out to see the gallery’s latest collection. This season’s collection features 12 artists, each one having about 3 pieces of art apiece on display, with a diverse range of mediums; everything from watercolor to photography, mixed media and even furniture are included, with several new artists contributing for the first time.
According to Firehouse executive director Jessica Polsky, the opening night saw over 100 in attendance. The gallery’s previous collection ultimately sold 10 pieces before its conclusion, which Polsky stated was, “Historically, one of the biggest regional shows that we’ve had.”
“We’re just thankful to continue to show the community different forms of art, and to have a place people can come to admire their region,” she said, “and whether that’s in a photograph or a painting, or anything, that’s something to be proud of. We should be really proud of the artists that are from this area.”
