As fall set in and Halloween approached, residents of Memorial Manor were treated to their own fall festival last Friday. Complete with a dunk tank, shooting gallery, cake walk, ring toss and concession stand, residents had plenty of options to enjoy. Brittany McCoy, head of activities at the manor, spoke to the Post-Searchlight about the festival. According to her, Georgia Hospice, Ricky’s Steak and Buffet, Skate Towne and Kindred Hospice all contributed in some way to the event, be it through food or the dunk tank, while everything else was hand-made by hospital staff. Hospital staff member Leslie Willingham and her family volunteered, grilling some of the food for the event, while Attapulgus Church of God also contributed some of the food as well.
McCoy said that almost every resident participated in the festivities, and those that did enjoyed it. She added that the hospital had held these festivals in the past, and that she hoped to bring them back as an annual occurrence.
“I would just like to say thank you to the community, and to anyone who contributed,” she concluded.
