In loving memory of Jose Antonio “Tony” Medina, who departed this earthly life on Monday, November 6th, 2023. Born on December 17th, 1964, to Mary Elizabeth Meredith and Pedro Irizarry Medina, Sr., in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Tony was raised in Climax, Georgia, and graduated from Whigham High School.
Tony is survived by his cherished daughters, Isabella Medina of Enterprise, AL, and Cierra Medina of Kerrville, TX. He is also survived by his older sister, Mittie Widner (Kenneth) of Climax, GA, his younger brother Luis Medina (Trina) of Sylvester, GA, and his younger sisters Trina Boger (Doug) and Christy Hanks (Brad) of Bainbridge, GA. He leaves behind fond memories with nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Mary Elizabeth and Pedro Medina, Sr., sisters Sally Lambert and Rosie Burns, and brother, Pedro Medina, Jr., along with nieces and nephews.
Known for his passion for weightlifting, Tony’s strength was evident to all who knew him. His heart extended to volunteer firefighting in Georgia before relocating to Florida. In Panama City, he owned a business for 13 years and dedicated time to volunteer efforts, particularly in beach cleanup initiatives. A devoted Georgia Bulldog fan, Tony’s greatest joy was being a Superman to his daughters.
At this time, no arrangements have been made, and the family plans for a private ceremony on a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks you to honor Tony’s memory by expressing love to those close to you today.
