It was a somber night at Centennial Field.
The Bearcats fell to the Perry Panther 3-7, ending their season in the second round of the playoffs.
“That right there is not going to define you,” Bearcats’ head coach Jeff Littleton told his team after the game. “You played with great effort. You played with great intensity. You never hung your head. That’s a lot to be proud of.”
Littleton then addressed the senior players.
“I’m proud of y’all,” Littleton said. “You handled your emotions well tonight because you know you control them, I’m proud of you.”
The game was a defensive battle, and both teams’ units controlled the game.
The Bearcats opened the game with a field goal from senior kicker Nicholas Tyre on their first drive. The Panthers answered a few drives later with a 41-yard touchdown run from junior running back Ahmad Gordon.
