Fannie Mae Boutwell, age 97, of Climax, Ga., passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, January 18, 2024. The Visitation will be held from 1 :00 p.m. to 1 :45 p.m. on Sunday, January 21, 2024 at Delwood Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Neil Hosey, Rev. David Pickering, and Rev. Dewitt Phillips officiating. A private interment will follow at Delwood Baptist Church Cemetery with Ray Bishop, Lee Boutwell, Tim Dean, Duriel Wimberly, Derwood Pollock, and Jimmy John McClure serving as pallbearers. The Deacons of Del wood Church will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com. Fannie was born May 23, 1926 in Mitchell County, Georgia the daughter of Samuel Duvewood Wimberly and Martha Linnie Sapp Wimberly. She attended Mt. Pleasant High School. Fannie did things “my way.” She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Fannie was known for her jelly, cookies, and pound cake. She loved serving her community by working at the polls. She was a member ofDelwood Baptist Church. Fannie was known for her unwavering love for others, especially her dedicated caretakers. She will be deeply missed by her friends and family. Survivors include her daughter, Diane Ingram of Palm Bay , FL; grandchildr<?n, Michelle Bryant of Jacksonville, FL and Brandie Bryant of Palm Bay, FL; great grandchildren, William Geary, Cody Kempton, and Jayden Kempton; great great grandchildren, Amber Jackson, Zayne Jackson, and Landon Kempton; sister, Mary Bell Archer of Pensacola, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Fannie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roy Boutwell; and siblings, Buck Wimberly, Robert Wimberly, Lawson Wimberly, Preacher Wimberly, Pearlie Mae Vickers, and Mallie Pollock. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Delwood Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, care of Janet Brock, 242 Mount Pleasant Church Road, Climax, GA 39834. The Boutwell family has entrusted the arrangements to Ivey Funeral Home, 502 S. Scott Street, Bainbridge, GA 39819.
