Myrtle Whittaker Mock, age 85, of Donalsonville, GA, passed away on Thursday morning, February 22, 2024, at Southeast Health in Dothan, AL.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 25, 2024, at 3:00 PM at Reynolds Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Jeff Spicer officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 2:00 PM at the church.
Ms. Mock was born in Donalsonville, GA on July 23, 1938, to Jesse Cleveland Whittaker and Pauline Faircloth Whittaker. She worked for many years, until her retirement, as the testing coordinator for Seminole County Elementary School. Ms. Mock loved the outdoors, spending time gardening and horseback riding. She loved playing cards and was a member of the Lake Seminole Card Club, as well as a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Spring Creek Volunteer Fire Department. Ms. Mock attended Reynolds Chapel United Methodist Church.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, John R. (Bob) Mock and Joy of Donalsonville, GA and Kristy Harrell and Brant of Climax, GA; her sister, Doris Brady of Dunlap, Tennessee; as well as her grandchildren, Judson Robert Mock and family, Payton Harrell, and Emerson Avery Harrell. Many dear, dear cousins and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Ms. Mock was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse Cleveland Whittaker and Pauline Faircloth Whittaker, as well as a son, Jim Mock.
