At its monthly meeting in February, the Bainbridge Service Club presented donated items and a check to Mirranda Jenkins, site director of Hope Farms in Bainbridge. As the guest speaker, Mirranda shared that Hope Farms is a Christ-centered residential recovery program for women. The facility serves as a sanctuary where women 18 years and older follow a structured, results-based program focusing on faith, study and service. The three-phase, intensive discipleship program uses group and personal bible studies to help women find their way to spiritual, physical, emotional and financial health and freedom. Among their responsibilities, the women share all the duties of running the household in which they live and working at the affiliated thrift store. The experiences at Hope Farms enable the women to develop new lifestyle habits, to improve interpersonal and social skills, and to gain work experience resulting in developing the character of Christ and competence in life.
