While crowds gathered at Rivertown Days on March 9, another music festival was being held in Attapulgus: the Oldie Goldie Convention. Attendees were treated to live music and food during the event. Members of local government were present at the event, and received special recognition for their service, those being County Commissioner George Anderson for “being a voice in the community for over 40 years”, and Attapulgus mayor Art King, as Attapulgus’s first black mayor.
