Bainbridge High School’s Jace Weaver has taken the next step in both his education and sports career, having officially committed to Albany State University. Weaver, who has been running track and field since the seventh grade, stated he had been on ASU’s radar, having run track meets there for years. He had considered several potential schools, before being approached by ASU’s Head Track and Field Coach Kenneth Taylor.
“I think ASU’s getting a great addition to their track program,” BHS Track and Field Coach Larry Cosby said of Weaver’s commitment. “He’s a diamond in the rough, he’s gonna do amazing things.”
Weaver intends to study business administration while at ASU.
When asked about the commitment, Weaver responded, “One thing my pops told me is, things will always even out. Even if things don’t go the way I want, I just gotta keep working and it’ll even out.”
