Mr. Earl Raiford Griffin, 88, of Bainbridge, formerly of Worth County, died on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at the Magnolia Place Senior Living Center in Bainbridge.

The funeral service was held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at Banks Funeral Home Chapel. The interment was held at 2:00 PM at the Andersonville National Cemetery. Mr. Paul Griffin officiated.  

Mr. Griffin was born on October 8, 1935 in Ocilla, Georgia, to the late John Wesley and Annie Mae Sumner Griffin. He had lived in Worth County most of his life and was a veteran, having served in the United States Navy. Mr. Griffin retired from the Marine Corps Logistics Base in Albany. He enjoyed fishing, collecting guns, knives and smoking his cigars. Mr. Griffin loved spending time with his family and friends, especially with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

 Survivors include his children, Sharon Selby (Stanley) of Scottsboro, Alabama, Marjorie Mayfield (Stephen) of Bainbridge, Georgia, and Jerry Griffin (Kathy) of Crawfordville, Florida;  grandchildren, Vanessa Dolberry (Kris), Aaron Selby (Marsha), Earl Griffin “Trey” III, Paul Griffin (Megan), Amanda Springer (Mike), Blake Brown (Jenny), Stephanie Green (Peyton), Mike Griffin, Benjamin Griffin (Alicia) Samuel Griffin (Raegan), Mikey Griffin, Kayla Cox and 16 great grandchildren; sister, Margaret Giddens of Sylvester.  

In addition to his parents, Mr. Griffin was preceded in death by his loving wife, Rachel Rivers Griffin on January 24, 2019, his son, Earl Raiford “Ray” Griffin, II, on December 29, 2023, brothers, Paul Griffin, Fain Griffin and ten half brothers and sisters.
