The City of Bainbridge made a big deal out of this past Saturday’s Second Saturday festivities. To celebrate receiving the 2024 Downtown of the Year award, the city held a block party, with several different events and activities.
The festivities began with a scavenger hunt around downtown for the kids. Despite the weather, the participants hounded out the various murals, stores, and landmarks they were given clues for, with Jackson Baker ultimately winning.
Face painting was also available for the kids.
At 5:00, the Kason Sellers Band began their performance, with the performance free to attend. Isaac’s Bakery provided a commemorative cake for the event, with members of the city council and city government coming together to cut it. According to city special event coordinator Claire Phillips, much of the feedback for the event was positive.
