GCA recognizes seniors at Friday Senior Night game

At last Friday night’s home game, Grace Christian Academy recognized this year’s senior athletes at halftime. The school recognized 13 student athletes. These seniors were: Grier Albritton with cheer; Madelyn Ard with cheer; Preston Barnett with football; Jaiden Belcher with football; Madison Deese with dance; Carlee Dollar with dance; Owen Earnest with football; Alyssa Harrison with dance; Ali Roberts with cheer; Kate Sigman with cheer; Emori Vickers with cheer; Cade Wells with football; and Dawson Worsley with football.
Grier Albritton
Grier is the daughter of Lori and Mike Albritton. Grier has attended GCA for 5 years where she has participated in varsity cheer for 5 years and tennis for 4 years. Her future plans are to attend Southern Regional to obtain her associate’s degree in radiology. After school, she plans to get married and travel. Her favorite verse is Romans 8:18, “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.”
Madelyn Ard
Madelyn is the daughter of Jennifer Ard and Jamie Ard. Madelyn has attended GCA for 5 years where she has participated in Soccer for 4 years, Tennis for 2 years, and Cheer for 2 years. Her future plans are to attend ABAC next fall and then transfer to The University of North Georgia to earn her bachelors degreee to become a RN. She then plans to get married and start a family. Her life verse is Psalms 46:10: “Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.
Preston Barnett
Preston is the son of Christy and David McCoy. Preston has attended GCA for 15 years where he has participated in Football for 5 years, wrestling for 4 years, soccer for 6 years, cross country for 2 years, basketball for 2 years, tennis for 2 years, golf for 1 year, and baseball for 2 years. His future plans are to attend Georgia Tech to major in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering, get a job or start a business, start a family, and open up a fish taco truck with Hayden Cohen. His favorite verse is Psalm 73:26, “My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.”
Jaiden Belcher
Jaiden is the son of Heather Walden and Jesse Belcher. Jaiden has attended GCA for 9 years where he has participated in football for 2 years, wresting for 1 year and soccer for 3 years. His future plans are to attend Florida State University to study Biology and then attend medical school with the hopes of becoming a general physician. His life verse is Romans 12:2, “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”
Madison Deese
Madison is the daughter of Heather and Allen Ramer. Madison has attended GCA for 3 years where she has participated in soccer for 3 years, cheer for 1 year, and danceline for 1 year. Her future plans are to attend college to become an elementary teacher. Her favorite verse is Deuteronomy 31:6, “Be strong and courageous, for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.”
Carlee Dollar
Carlee is the daughter of Kellie and Cliff Dollar. Carlee has attended GCA for 15 years where she has participated in volleyball for 1 year, basketball for 1 year, cheer for 3 years, danceline for 2 years, soccer for 1 year, and has been the volleyball manager for 2 years. Her future plans are to attend Troy University to earn her degree in nursing and then work in a critical care unit before pursuing a doctorial degree as a nurse anthesis. Her life verse is Isaiah 55:8-9, “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the LORD, For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
Owen Earnest
Owen is the son of Meredyth and Hal Earnest. Owen has attended GCA for 15 years where he has participated in cross country for 4 years, tennis for 4 years, basketball for 5 years, and football for 2 years. His future plans are to attend a University to major in either Agricultural business or Environmental Science. His life verse is Ephesians 2:8, “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God.”
Alyssa Harrison
Alyssa is the daughter of Mindy and Travis Harrison. Alyssa has attended GCA for 4 years where she has participated in soccer for 4 years, danceline for 1 year, and basketball for 1 year. Her future plans are to attend Southern Regional to earn her associates degree in radiology to become a sonogropher. She then plans to get married, start a family and have a dog. Her life verse is Provers 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
Ali Roberts
Ali is the daughter of Mendy Yarbrough and Tim Roberts. Ali has attended GCA for 8 years where she has participated in volleyball for 4 years, basketball for 2 years, cheer for 3 years, danceline for 1 year, and soccer for 4 years. Her future plans are to attend college to major in nursing to become a labor and delivery nurse as well as get married and start a family. Her favorite verse is 1 Corinthians 16:13-14, “Be on guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. Do everything in love.”
Kate Sigman
Kate is the daughter of Stacey and Michael Sigman. Kate has attended GCA for 6 years where she has participated in cross country for 4 years, golf for 3 years, volleyball for 3 years, and cheer for 3 years. Her future plans are to attend college to major in chemical and biomolecular engineering with the hope to attend medical school to become a radiologist. Her favorite verse is Proverbs 27:19: As water reflects the face, so one’s life reflects the heart.
Emori Vickers
Emori is the daughter of Micah Barnes and Harold Vickers. Emori has attended GCA for 12 years where she has participated in cheer for 2 years and danceline for 1 year. Her future plans are to attend a university to pursue a degree in cardiac radiology. She then plans to get married and start a family. Her favorite verse is Matthew 6:34, “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough troubles of its own.”
Cade Wells
Cade is the son of Rhonda and Jay Wells. Cade has attended GCA for 15 years where he has participated in cross country for 4 years, football for 3 years, basketball for 4 years, baseball for 4 years, and tennis for 3 years. His future plans are to attend a university to pursue a degree in business, get married, and start a family. His life verse is Psalm 23:4, ‘Even though I walk though the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”
Dawson Worsley
Dawson is the son of Amy and Jay Worsley. Dawson has attended GCA for 11 years where he has participated in basketball for 4 years, tennis for 4 years, soccer for 4 years, football for 4 years, and cross country for 2 years. His future plans are to attend school to become an electrician, get married, and start a family. His favorite verse is Galatians 2:20, “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”
Unfortunately, the Cougars would ultimately lose that night’s game, in a crushing defeat to the Georgia Christian Generals, 42-0. The Cougar’s next game will be an away game against Crisp Academy, scheduled for this Friday at 7:00 PM. As of this time, no changes to the game’s time on account of weather have been announced.
