Hazel Williams Wilkinson, age 103, passed away Thursday, October 3, 2024, at Memorial Hospital in Bainbridge, Georgia.  Services for Mrs. Wilkinson will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at the Cadwell Chapel of Cox – Ivey Funeral Home.  The Rev. Chad Cooper will officiate. The interment will follow in Roselawn Memory Gardens.  John Edward Wells, Bryan Darley, Jason Williams, Jason Bowen, Stephen Gainous, and Evan Ray Wilkinson will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends one hour before the service beginning at 1:00 p.m.   

Hazel Williams Wilkinson was born March 29, 1921 in Decatur County, Georgia, to Joseph Edward (Tump) Williams and Dolie Thompson Williams.  Hazel grew up one of six children.  She was a soft-spoken, kind person.  She married Aubrey Ray Wilkinson, and they raised 3 children.  Hazel was a homemaker.  She cared for her home and family with all her heart.  Hazel’s love language was food.   Everything she cooked was great, but her fried chicken was the best of the best.  Hazel was a member of First Baptist Church and, when she was physically able,  she attended regularly.   Mrs. Wilkinson loved working with and enjoyed growing beautiful plants.  She was sweet, gentle, and loving.  She will be deeply missed by her family and many friends.

Mrs. Wilkinson is survived by her son, Donnie Eugene Wilkinson; grandchildren, Sherri Faircloth Maxwell, Debbie Faircloth Usery (Bruce), Shannon Ray Wilkinson (Nickee), Jamie Lynn Wilkinson Lai (Jeremy), and Christopher Wilkinson; and a host of great and great-great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Barbara Faircloth; son, Aubrey Lutrell Wilkinson; granddaughter, Aubrey Nikole Wilkinson, and siblings, Charlie Brutell Williams, Alice Williams Wells, Myrtle Williams Williams, Joseph Edwards (J. E. ) Williams and Lamar Williams.
