On October 10, Shweta Patel was selected to serve on the 2024-2026 State School Superintendent’s Parent Advisory Council (PAC). Patel was selected for this role because she has a history of being involved with different school events and fundraiser activities for many years. For instance, Patel was selected as a Representative of PAC for DCBOE for the second time in 2024. Also, she joined the Parent Teacher Organization in 2017.
As a member of State School Superintendent’s PAC, Patel shares information about the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) website, and other important information that will instruct parents on how to help their children in different grade levels and different subjects. Patel states she accepted the position “to improve knowledge about how to help my kids and at the same time, I can help parents and their kids too.”
Patel stated next month is Parent Family Engagement Month. So, she will make a video or presentation that explains the September meeting information about the GaDOE. The presentation will explain how to get information for different subjects on different grade levels, how to use the apps that GaDOE launched, how to help Special Education students, and much more important information.
Patel exclaimed that she’s “really grateful to DCBOE for giving me this opportunity to serve on the State Board. This position has inspired me more to help as a volunteer and help persuade more parents to work as a volunteer at different schools.”
