Downtown Bainbridge saw people showing up for the tunes at this year’s River South festival. This marks the fourth year the city has held the music festival. The festivities began early in the morning, with contestants registering for the Firehouse Arts Center’s Sidewalk Chalk Contest, while others took to Willis Park for a Zumba class hosted by Mariana Nix. McKenzie Conder also hosted yoga on the square during the morning. The Bainbridge Decatur County Humane Society was also present on the square, showcasing some of their animals available for adoption.
As the day progressed, live music was offered at several locations around downtown, including the Recovery Room and the Old Post Office. The main performances began on the main stage at 5:00 PM, starting with Red Hoss Suckas, followed by the Page Brothers Band, and culminating with Christian Hayes.
Even after the main acts concluded, the night wasn’t over, with more live music offered at Southern Philosophy afterwards.
Downtown Development Authority Director Amanda Glover thanked the event’s sponsors, which included First National Bank, BASF, Visit Bainbridge, Sun Stop, First Port City Bank, Southern Philosophy, City of Bainbridge Fiber, Natural Gas Connection, The Old Post Office, and the Recovery Room.
