Gwendolyn Kaye Kendrick was born October 12, 1948, in Bainbridge, GA, the daughter of Earl & Hazel Franklin Kendrick. After high school, she attended college and then became the purchasing agent for Bainbridge College. Gwendolyn was a member of Eldorendo Baptist Church.

Living a simple life, enjoying the grandchildren & great-grandchildren’s antics, drew Gwendolyn to Sumter County twenty-or-so years ago. Little things made all the difference in the world to her. Frappé from Starbucks and doodling around her kitchen made for the best days. Baking cakes and sharing her delicacies was the literal “icing on the cake” for Gwendolyn.

Survivors include her daughter, Mia Barrow (Aaron Wallace) of Lake Blackshear; her grandchildren, Chloe & Gerrard, Eli, and Zack & Barbie; her great-grandchildren, Tucker, Penelope, Wyllow, J.R., and Benji; her siblings, Deborah Turner (Pat) and Jeff Whitfield (Tammi); and her nieces & nephews, Deanna, Kristy & Kent, and Patrick & Tiffany. Gwendolyn was preceded in death by her parents.

Bryant Funeral Home, located at 105 N. Florida Street, is assisting the family with arrangements. (229-246-3321)
