Shots fired after altercation at sports complex

A normal afternoon turned chaotic on Tuesday, when shots were fired at the Bill Reynolds sports complex. According to Bainbridge Public Safety, the incident began as an argument/altercation among several juveniles near the basketball courts, which ultimately progressed to shots being fired.

One offender, a juvenile, has been arrested, and charged with aggravated assault, discharge of firearms on or near a public highway, possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of or attempt to commit certain crimes, possession of a handgun by a person under 18, and a reckless conduct misdemeanor.

No fatalities were reported. According to BPS Investigator Mark Esquivel, the incident is still under investigation.
