Mr. James Willard Weaver Sr. passed away on Friday, March 30, 2012, at his home in Climax. Services will be held Sunday, April 1, 2012, at 3 p.m., at Climax Baptist Church. The Rev. Steve Poppell and the Rev. Jim Weaver will be officiating.

The grandsons of Mr. Weaver will serve as pallbearers. A private interment will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 2 p.m.

James Willard Weaver was born Dec. 17, 1936, in Decatur County, to Curtice Allison Weaver and Laura Moore Weaver. He graduated from high school in Climax. On April 29, 1955, 56 years ago, Willard married Betty Allen. Mr. Weaver retired as shipping supervisor from Engelhard Mineral and Chemical Corporation after 38 years of service. He was of the Baptist faith. Willard loved to “putter” around his farm. Mostly, he loved his family. His wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were his heart.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Brenda Weaver; siblings, Odell Weaver, Mildred Anclusa, Evelyn Lowe and William Weaver.

James Willard Weaver Sr. is survived by his wife, Betty Allen Weaver; children, Rev. James (Jim) Willard Weaver, Jr. and wife, Dale, Connie Weaver Baltzell and husband, Mike, and Alan Curtis Weaver and wife, Lisa, all of Climax; grandchildren, James (Jayme) Willard Weaver III and wife, Jonna, DeAnn Weaver Ansley and husband, John, Jason Fletcher and wife, Alesha, Dustin Shockley and wife, Nicki, Alan Curtis Weaver Jr. and wife, Salome, Cameron Shockley and April, and Garrett Weaver; eight great-grandchildren; and brother, Emerson Weaver of Brinson.
