Bainbridge High School first-team All-Region 1-AAAA player Rodney Glenn signed a basketball scholarship Tuesday with the Chattahoochee Valley Community College Pirates, of Phenix City, Ala.
Glenn, who averaged 11.5 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 3.7 assists a game, was a four-year starter for coach Rickey McCullough’s Bearcats.
He helped lead the 2011-2012 Bearcats to an outstanding 23-4 regular season record, the Region 1-AAAA South Sub-Region championship and a berth in the second round of the State Class AAAA Tournament.
McCullough and Chattahoochee Valley head coach Richard Mahone, who attended the signing, both praised Glenn’s athletic ability.
“Rodney was a strong player and a real team leader,” McCullough said. “He contributed as a shooter, rebounder and assist man game after game.”
Mahone called Glenn a tremendous athlete and said he plans to use him both inside and outstside.
Former Bearcats Marquis Williams and Antroine Williford also played for Mahone at Chattahoochee Valley.
“Coach McCullough has produced some outstanding players here,” Mahone said.
