Pamela Thomas Maynard, 55, of Auburn, Ala., passed away Sunday, April 29, 2012, at her residence.
The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Central Standard Time on Thursday, May 3, 2012, at Auburn First Presbyterian Church in Auburn, with Jeffcoat-Trant Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The graveside service will be held at 4:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on Thursday, May 3, 2012, at Hopeful Baptist Church Cemetery in Hopeful, Ga. with Ivey Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
She was born April 10, 1957, in New Orleans, La., to Robert Morgan Thomas, M.D. and Virginia Bonnville Thomas. Educated in the Columbia, Mo., public school system, Pam was a graduate of Rock Bridge High School in Columbia. She attended Stephens College and the University of Michigan as an art major. Pam was a licensed pilot and a retired Trans World Airlines flight attendant. She married Charles H. Maynard Sr. on February 26, 1989, in New Orleans.
Pam is survived by her husband, two daughters, Margaret Katherine Maynard and Virginia Morgan Maynard of Auburn; a son, Charles H. Maynard Jr. (Kristen) of Charleston, S.C.; parents, Dr. and Mrs. Robert M. Thomas of Columbia, Mo.; two sisters, Susan Thomas Dibden (Fraser) of Dubai, United Arab Emirates, Celia Thomas of Overland Park, Kan.; a brother, Robert M. Thomas Jr. (Kerry) of Leawood, Kan., and a granddaughter, Peyton Lanier Maynard of Charleston.
Pam was a loving mother and wife, a gifted artist, world traveler, and a culinary master. She had a heart of gold, always ready to help those in need and will be missed by her family.
