Coach Blake Carruthers of Jones-Wheat Elementary School recently held his annual Jump Rope for Heart to raise money for the American Heart Association. Students were jumping rope and did the hula-hoop while they raised money. Jones-Wheat raised $2,855.33, which was a $248 increase in the amount raised last year. Fourth-graders Magen Mash, RonTaesha Goss and Lauren Ochoa are jumping rope for the Heart Association.
