On Wednesday, Keep Decatur County Beautiful held a fashion, art and accessories show, comprised of clothing and other items made of at least 50 percent recycled materials. From left to right are Aubrie Provence (skirt made from plastic bags and tissue paper), Hillary Barfield (skirt made from gift bows), Hannah Birdsong (fishing lure skirt), Lanie Birdsong, Mary Margaret Wells, Lindy Harrell (skirt made from burlap bag and dog-food bag) and Suzanne Brandt (hat with paper flowers). In front is Angelina Bautista, wearing a shirt made of paper from cut-up soda can boxes. According to Brandt, the purpose of the show was to get people thinking about different ways that recycled materials can be used, and to encourage the practice of recycling.
