Funeral services for Mary Gwendolyn Clenney Brooks, 78, of Colquitt, Ga., will be held Saturday, March 26, at 11 a.m. at Bellview Free Will Baptist Church with the Revs. Andy Merritt and Bruce Kimbrel officiating.

Interment will follow in the church’s cemetery with John Grant, Ben Clenney, Kevin Clenney, Rusty Clenney, Jason Suggs and Richard Barrow serving as active pallbearers.

Born April 26, 1932, in Mitchell County, Ga., Mrs. Brooks died on Wednesday, March 23, 2011, at her residence.

Mrs. Brooks was a homemaker and active member of Bellview Free Will Baptist Church and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Bellview Free Will Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rayburn Lamar Brooks, and a sister, Doris Grant.

Survivors include a daughter, Brenda Brooks of Colquitt; a son, Donald Brooks of Colquitt; three sisters, Nadine Barron of Columbus, Ga., Elise Williams and Shirley Kimbrel, both of Colquitt; three brothers, Rudy Clenney of Lenoir City, Tenn., Randy Clenney and Lavon Clenney, both of Colquitt; two sisters-in-law, Clara Nell Heard of Bainbridge and Louise Grant of Colquitt; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Colquitt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
