Hal Brannen, chairman of First Port City Bank’s board of directors, announced the election of William “Bill” R. Burke and Robert M. “Matt” Palmer to the board of directors of First Port City Bank.

“We welcome the addition of these two fine gentlemen, who will bring valuable insight and perspectives to the board,” said Brannen.

Burke is a partner in a local CPA firm Burke, Worsham & Harrell LLC. He serves in a number of civic capacities including the Bainbridge College Foundation where he serves as chairman, the Community Foundation of South Georgia, Memorial Hospital and Manor Foundation, Decatur County Library Foundation, Samaritan Counseling Center and the Bainbridge Rotary Club.

He and his wife, Dona, have two children, Lauren and Kenneth.

Palmer owns a local insurance company, The Palmer Agency Inc., and he is a native of Bainbridge.

He is also very active throughout the community and has recently served as chairman of the Bainbridge-Decatur County Chamber of Commerce and currently serves on the executive board of the Chamber. He is the current chairman of the Convention and Visitors Bureau, a member of Bainbridge Rotary Club, the Professional Insurance Agents of Georgia and the Independent Insurance Agents of Georgia.

He and his wife, Tish, have two children, Riley and Gibbs.
