There will be a four-run event Saturday at the Earle May Boat Basin.
The event is being directed by Joe Miller, who is raising money for his sister Jessie Marie-Cobb, who needs kidney surgery.
There will be a 5,000-meter (3.1-mile) run and a 10,000-meter (6.2-mile) run, which will both get under way at 8 a.m. Registration, which begins at 7 a.m., is $25.
There will also be a one-mile run beginning at 9 a.m., with a $15 entry fee, and a “Daddy Diva” 100-yard dash in honor of Father’s Day. Dash registration is $15.
Events will start near the Boat Basin nature trail and awards will be presented at the picnic area.
Miller urges local runners and their families to come out and enjoy Saturday’s events.
“I know we have some strong runners in our area and we want them to come out and enjoy all four runs,” he said. “They will have a good time while helping a great cause. All of the runs should be very competitive.”
