Funeral services for Roger Lamar “Rodney” Scott Jr., 29, of Iron City, Ga., was held Thursday, May 12, in the chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with the Revs. Jimmy Walden, Greg Parker, Ron McCaskill and Jim McLaughlin officiating.

Interment followed in Corinth Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery in Iron City with Carl Scott, Will Scott, Philip Scott, Charles Scott, Dennis Scott and Hayden Scott serving as active pallbearers.

Born March 31, 1982, in Donalsonville, Ga., Mr. Scott died on Saturday, May 7, 2011, in the emergency room at the Donalsonville (Ga.) Hospital.

Mr. Scott was the son of the late Roger L. Scott Sr. and Patricia Scott. He attended Unity Church of God and worked with Scott’s Transmission in Iron City, Ga.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, James and Claire Starling; his paternal grandparents, L.J. and Ouida Barrett Scott; his father, Roger L. Scott, Sr.; and his wife, Christy Sanders Scott.

Survivors include his daughter, Bridget Ann Scott of Iron City; his mother, Patricia Scott of Iron City; two brothers, Donald Scott and James Scott and his wife, Faith, all of Donalsonville; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Evans-Skipper Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
