The annual Bainbridge-Decatur County Fair is almost here — and families are sure to enjoy the heart-pounding midway rides, games and great carnival food.

The Fair starts on Tuesday, Oct. 30, and continues through Saturday, Nov. 3. Gates open at 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. On Saturday, gates open at 4 p.m. so families with young children can come early. Small children (and most adults) will enjoy the Little People’s Petting Zoo, crafts by the Southwest Georgia Library and more.

The Decatur County Sheriff’s office will be conducting the CHIPS digital fingerprinting program for children.

“We will have 21 rides this year, including the new Ferris Wheel with 65 different LED lights, the very popular Ring of Fire, Hurricane, Bumper Cars, MusicFest and some brand new kids rides,” said Kim Walden, Membership and Communications Director for the Chamber of Commerce.  “There will games and prizes and of course all the food favorites like fried Oreos, cotton candy, candied apples, funnel cakes, fried pickles, corndogs, Burgers and more.”

On Wednesday, kids can “Trick or Treat” for candy at the fairgrounds and then go enjoy the rides and games.

On Thursday, several Christian bands are expected to perform.

“We all have memories of our childhood and the annual fair is one of them,” said Matt Palmer, chairman of the Chamber’s fair committee.  “From the smell of the carnival food, to the lights and sounds of the thrilling rides, the Decatur County Fair has been making memories for families for years.”

Pre-sale admission tickets are $4 (Ages 3 and under are free). Pre-sale unlimited ride armbands are $12.

Pre-sale admission tickets are available through Monday, Oct. 29 at a number of local businesses or from Chamber of Commerce staff.

At the gate, one-day tickets are $5. Armbands allowing unlimited rides on Tuesday and Wednesday are $14. Armbands for unlimited rides on Thursday, Friday and Saturday are $16 each. The proceeds from the Fair support community programs and services for the Bainbridge-Decatur County Chamber of Commerce.
