Mrs. Mary G. Cottrell Brown, of Faceville, passed away on Dec. 30, 2012.
Visitation was at St. Luke Independent Methodist Church, Old Faceville Road, Friday, Jan. 4, from 4 p.m. to 7 pm.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at 1 p.m., at Rehoboth Christian Cathedral, 1610 Old Quincy Road, Bainbridge, with Pastor Eric Collins officiating, and Rev. T.C. Smith, eulogist.
Mary Cottrell Brown was born April 27, 1951, in Quincy, Fla. to Jerry Sr. and Mrs. Vallie Cottrell, who preceded her in death. She is survived by Mrs. Ruthie Lee Chavers, of Faceville, who mothered her after her birth mother passed away.
She attended the Gadsden County (Fla.) public schools and Florida A&M University, where she earned an LPN Degree.
She retired from Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare after 30 years. She was most recently employed at Tallahassee Developmental Center.
She is survived by her husband, Emory King Brown — her “Honey” — of Faceville; children, Bridgette Wade,Vannessa Brewington and Meaco Brewington of Bainbridge; niece and nephew, Cheryl Moody of Quincy, Fla., and Xavier Sidaaq (Stacey) of Brentwood, Calif.; grandchildren, Alisha, Briana, Nicolas Wade, Kameron Cromartie, Le’Meaco, Quinton Brewington, Sheed, Sabira, Mu’Mina, Niana, Ibrahim Sidaaq; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Chandler’s Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
