Mr. Garland Eli Enfinger, age 71, passed away Monday, Nov. 18, 2013, at his home in Bainbridge.
Services for Mr. Enfinger will be held at 3 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013, at Corinth Freewill Baptist Church in Iron City, Georgia. The Rev. Richard M. Vaughn and the Rev. Milton Harrison will officiate.
Chace Vaughn, Codey Vaughn, Joshua Brown, Chason Mathis, Brian Alday, and Brantley Whitaker will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow in Corinth Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, at Cox Funeral Home.
Garland Eli Enfinger was born Nov. 12, 1942 in Colquitt, Ga. to Fred Enfinger and Alpha King Enfinger He served in the United States Army and received commendations as a sharpshooter (rifle) and expert (carbine). He was a loving family man, who loved his wife, and children, and grandkids very much. He loved fishing, listening to gospel music , and spending time with his grandkids outdoors, riding them on his John Deere Mower. His quote in life would be, “Never go to bed angry with each other”.
Garland Enfinger is survived by his wife, Betty Enfinger of Bainbridge; children, Tammy Tucker of Destin, Fla.,Vicky Vaughn and husband, Richard M., of Bainbridge, Sherry Bryan and husband, Charles of Bainbridge, and Sharon Enfinger of Bainbridge; brothers and sisters, Edward Enfinger and wife, Helen of Bainbridge, Kenneth Enfinger of Grand Ridge, Florida, Harry Enfinger and wife, Vivian of Denver, Colo., Pat Author and husband, Howard of Faceville, Ga., and Lillian Harrison and husband, Don of Donalsonville, Ga.; grandchildren, Brian Alday, Chace Vaughn, Codey Vaughn, Magen Vaughn, Brittany Wimberly, Miranda Wimberly, Kelly Bryan, Summer Bryan, Halee Bryan, Christian Bryan, Courtney Brown, Joshua Brown, Heidi Horton and Chason Mathis; great-grandchildren, Zoey Mathis, Aaron Alday and Little Bryan Alday.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Bobby Enfinger, Howard Enfinger, Marcine Enfinger, and Dorothy Wells. Cox Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
