Mrs. Dorothy Lewis Cobb, age 81, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014, at her home in Bainbridge, Ga.
Services for Mrs. Cobb will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, Jan. 6, 2014, at Cox Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Warren Fox will be officiating. Interment will follow in New Fountainhead Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service, beginning at 10 a.m.
Dorothy Lewis was born June 6, 1932 in Seminole County, Ga. to Daniel Jack Lewis and Clyde Marie Blackman Lewis. She married Dan Cobb, Jr., who preceded her in death. Dorothy moved to Bainbridge in 1960. She worked in the laundry of local health care facilities.
Mrs. Cobb was a member of Morningside Baptist Church.
Dorothy Cobb is survived by her daughter, Patricia Jones; sons, Roger Everett, James Cobb, Billy Cobb, and Charles Cobb; 13 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and friend and caretaker, Phylecia Wright.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; daughter, Linda Gail Kent; sisters, Christine Chinell, Betty Jean Chinell, Willie Maud Gordon, and Mildred Dean; brother, Buford Lewis and Edgar Lewis.
