William Elwyn Aultman, age 75, of Fayetteville, Ga., passed away Feb. 9, 2014.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Flat Creek Baptist Church, Fayetteville, Ga. The burial will follow at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville. Mr. Aultman was a longtime member of Flat Creek Baptist Church, Fayetteville. Elwyn was born in Decatur County, Ga. on Nov. 19, 1938.  He was a graduate of the Bainbridge High School Class of 1956.
He attended South Georgia Tech in Americus, were he received his Airframe License. He began his career with Southern Airways Company at the Bainbridge, Georgia Air Force Base as an aircraft mechanic in 1958.
He moved to Atlanta in 1959 and began working for Southern Airways, which later became Republic Airlines and retired from his career with Northwest Airlines in November 2000. He served in the Air Force reserve for five years.
He was preceded in death by his son Rex Aultman and father Owen Aultman.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Gloria Aultman; mother Emmie G. Aultman of Bainbridge; son Roy Aultman and wife Jessica of Fairburn, Ga.; daughter Amy Helm & husband Patrick of Elizabethtown, Ky.; grandchildren John Selman, Sarah Selman, and Raelee Helm; brother Hilton Aultman & wife Margaret of Bainbridge; and niece Laura Aultman Fortino of Panama City, Fla.
The family wants to thank their dear friend Nelda Green for her years of support.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Elwyn Aultman to Flat Creek Baptist Church, 161 Flat Creek Trail, Fayetteville, GA 30214.
