On May 29, 2014, Wilma J. Ray went to be with the Lord. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Bainbridge, Georgia. She served her earthly life for the Lord as a nursery worker, children’s Sunday School teacher, WMU member, senior adult worker, a faithful
witness, wife and mother.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. CST, Saturday, May 31, 2014 at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel (Dothan) with Reverend Paul Medley, Reverend Wallace Russell, and Reverend Art Bruce officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Headland with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. CST, Saturday, May 31, 2014 at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Kent Skinner, John Jones, Mike Jones, Randy Beasley, and Jimmy McCord.
Mrs. Ray was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Streck of Hennessey, Oklahoma; three brothers, Clyde Streck, Walter Streck, and Spud Streck; three sisters, Dorothy Ball, Cecil Mayes, and Cleo Windham.
Mrs. Ray leaves a loving husband of 63 years, Eulice Lynn Ray of The Home; a daughter, Donna L. Lennard and husband Larry of Bainbridge; a son, Allen M. Ray and wife Beverly of Carrollton, Texas; four grandchildren, Jonathan A. Ray, David M. Ray and wife Amber, Amy E. Ray, and Maggie L. Lennard; two great grandchildren, Daniel D. Ray and Viona E. Ray; three sisters, Esther Staggs of Oklahoma, Maxine Brandt of Illinois, and Wanda Hunter of Oklahoma.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in memory to First Baptist Church, P. O. Box 155, Bainbridge, GA 39818 or Bethel Baptist Church, 3257 E. Cottonwood Road, Dothan, AL 36301.
