Carolyn Chestnut Cook, 79, of Donalsonville, GA, passed away Saturday, August 16, 2014 at Memorial Hospital.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Fellowship Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Worsley and Rev. Kenneth Baggett officiating. Interment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery, Quincy, FL with Arthur Glass, Philmore Higginbotham, Jamie R. Chestnut, Reese Chestnut, Avery Chestnut, Eric Holley, Randy Logue, and Alex Griffin serving as active pallbearers.

Mrs. Cook was born October 1, 1934 in Blakely, GA, the daughter of Ira Hubert Hay and Era Vernice Batchelor Hay. She was a member of Salem Seminole Baptist Church where she sang in the church choir and enjoyed her Sunday School class. Mrs. Cook retired from Amoco Fabrics as a weaver. She loved to spend time cooking, baking, fishing and especially spending time with family.

Survivors include her husband of 14 years, W.L. Cook of Donalsonville, GA; her children, Jamie Chestnut and his wife, Lori, of Bainbridge, GA, David Chestnut and his wife, Dina, of Bainbridge, GA, Arthur Chestnut and his wife, Cathy, of Bainbridge, GA, Sara Nell Swatkiewicz of Carroll, IA, JoAnn Holley and her husband, Roger, of Climax, GA, Patsy Cook of Tallahassee, FL, Faye Logue and her husband, Randall, of Climax, GA, Buddy Cook of Donalsonville, GA, and Tony and Teresa Apperson of Bainbridge, GA.; her sisters, Geneva Renaue, Emogene Dyer and Loura Hosey; her grandchildren, Jamie, Anslie, Reese, Avery, Autumn, Pam, Lisa, Lori, Jaime, Julie, Debbie, Donna, Denise, Ted Allen, Sonya, Mark, Nathan, Amber, Tommy, Anthony, Tina, DeDe, Chastity, Valarie, Randy and Billy; her 19 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Henry Chestnut; her daughters, Karen Chestnut and Betty Potts; her sisters, Victoria Yon, Eunice Apperson, Evolene Scott; and her brother, Buddy Hay.
