Bainbridge High School Bearcats senior running back and defensive end Tramaine McCray has been named to the Albany Herald’s Southwest Georgia Dynamite Dozen team.
McRae, who is 5-feet-11-inches and weighs 200 pounds, said he is honored by the selection and he takes pride in being a leader for the younger players.
“I enjoy playing both offense and defense and I am dedicated to working hard and being the best player I can be,” he said. “I encourage the younger players to also work hard.”
Bearcats head coach Jeff Littleton talked about McRae’s strong leadership qualities on both sides of the ball.
“Traimaine has stepped up as one of our senior leaders and that is what he is supposed to do,” Littleton said.
According to the Albany Herald, MaCray was chosen because “He was one of Bainbridge’s top defenders last season with 62 tackles, nine tackles for losses, two blocked kicks and a fumble recovery for a touchdown. Now McCray is the Bearcats’ No. 1 running back and could have a monster season on both sides of the ball.”
The Dynamite Dozen also includes senior defensive tackle Trent Thompson of Westover, senior outside linebacker Antravious Parks of Westover, senior running back Wesley Fields of Americus-Sumter, junior lineman Quintin Sanders of Mitchell County, senior linebacker Gary McCrae of Randolph-Clay, senior linebacker Dextric Green of Lee County, senior wide receiver J.Q. Quimbly of Lee County, senior quarterback Witt Campbell of Crisp County, senior safety Malik Dungee of Albany High, senior defensive tackle Brentavious Glanton of Monroe and junior linebacker Antonio Leroy of Monroe.
