Mrs. Sarah V. Green Richardson

Mrs. Sarah V. Green Richardson, age 76, passed away Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014, at her home in Attapulgus, Ga. Services for Mrs. Richardson will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2014, at Attapulgus Baptist Church. Pastor Jerry Bishop, Rev. Haskell White and Pastor Ryan Zearing will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Chad Richardson, Jessie Richardson, Trey Richardson, Colby Smith, Chris Green and Mike Green will serve as pallbearers. The family received friends Tuesday, September 2, at Cox Funeral Home.
Sarah Richardson was born May 8, 1938, in Attapulgus, to R.E. Green and Dicey Griner Green. Sarah graduated from high school there in Attapulgus. She loved sports. She played basketball in her high school days. Sarah was married to Errol S. Richardson, who preceded her in death in April of 1998. After she married, she and her husband never missed a Bainbridge High School basketball game. Errol and Sarah served in the ministry for years. She was a member of Attapulgus Baptist Church. Sarah Richardson was a devoted Christian mother and grandmother. She will be sorely missed by the family she loved so much.
Sarah Richardson is survived by her children, Theresa Dunlap of Colquitt, Bobby Richardson and wife, Peggy of Bainbridge, Stevie Richardson and wife, Teresa of Climax; sisters and brothers, Mildred Brock of Albany, R. L. Green and wife, Delores of Attapulgus, Louise Hecht and husband, Al of Jacksonville, Fla., Charles Green and wife, Rita of Attapulgus; grandchildren, Chad Richardson and wife, Lacey of Colquitt, Trey Richardson of Bainbridge, Jessie Richardson of Bainbridge, Bentley (Buckshot) McGaughey of Climax, Kayla Lambert and husband, Matt of Climax, Colby Smith of Bainbridge, Brandy Weaver of Donalsonville, and Hannah Trejo and husband, Daniel of Brinson; great-grandchildren, Colton Richardson, Calhoun Richardson, Dixie Lambert, Matt Lambert, Jr., Cole Lambert, Roman Trejo, and Vincent Trejo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Eugene Green, and grandson, Michael Weaver.
Memorial contributions may be made in her honor to Attapulgus Baptist Church, 206 Church Street, Attapulgus, Georgia 39815.
