The Bainbridge High School Lady Cats softball team has united strongly this season, working together to achieve amazing results. Their impressive season continued Thursday when they shut out the Cook County High School Lady Hornets 1-0 in Adel to improve their Region 1-AAAA record to 5-1.
They are 10-3 overall.
They are in second place in the Region, just one game behind the first place Thomas County Central High School Lady Yellow Jackets, who have not lost a Region game.
Lady Cats head coach Amy Thomas says she is very pleased with the way her team is playing.
“We are pitching well, hitting well and hustling and that is all a coach can ask,” she said.
Right-hander Brooke Bates struck out 14 batters in leading the Lady Cats past the Lady Hornets. She also scored the winning run in the bottom of the sixth inning singling and coming in on a clutch RBI triple by shortstop Maegan Harrison.
Last Tuesday’s scheduled Region 1-AAAA game between the Bearcats and the Albany High School Lady Indians at the Lady Cats Diamond that was rained out has been rescheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 30 when the Bearcats travel to Albany for a scheduled Region 1AAAA game with the Westover High School Lady Patriots. They will play both Westover and Albany in a Region 1-AAAA double header that day.
