Decatur County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a call at 2:35 a.m. Wednesday in reference to an armed robbery at the Mr. Pip’s convenience store on Hwy. 27.
Two men, both wearing ski masks and hoodies, held the two store clerks at gunpoint, demanding money from the cash register and the store’s safe.
Both clerks were in the kitchen when the two males entered the store. After stealing around $250 from the cash register, the thieves tied up the two clerks and left in an unknown direction, according to an incident report.
When Deputy Vincent Edmond arrived at the scene, the two store clerks had untied themselves and were outside.
The case was turned over to DCSO investigator Ken Davidson.
“We’ve got some leads we’re following now,” Davidson said.
