Wesley D. “Buddy” Dukes, 75, passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at Memorial Hospital.
The memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dwight Deal officiating. The family will receive friends at the chapel immediately following the service. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com.
Mr. Dukes was born August 22, 1939 in Miller County, the son of Rufus Dukes and Inez Lovering Dukes. He was a retired carpenter and welder, and a member of Highway Free Will Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Ardeth Sanders Dukes of Bainbridge; his sons, Wesley D. Dukes, Jr. of Tallahassee, Michael Dukes and his wife, Kim, of Panama City, and Chris Cook of Bainbridge; his daughters, Cindy Russell and her husband, Ray, of Odom, Georgia, Lawanda Bieser of Panama City, Lucretia Gray of Panama City, Diana Taylor of Apopka, Florida, and Donna Phillips and her husband, Wendell, of Newton, Ga.; his brother, Rufus Dukes, Jr. of Brinson; his sister, Frances Dukes Wisham of Tampa; 16 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his sons, Donald DeWayne Dukes and Michael Cook; his brother, Lonnie Dukes; and his sister, Dorothy Dukes Cook
