President Bonnie Maloy called the December meeting of the Climax Golden Agers to order welcoming all to the annual Christmas party. Following the welcome she gave the devotional of Emanuel “Prince of Peace” taken from the book Streams in the desert.
Those who were not able to attend the party due to sickness or other circumstances or others in the community were remembered in prayer by Rita Dodson. They included: Diane Gibson, Judy Fuller, Gene and Jean Ann Ouzts, Ed Harrell, Chet at the Alzheimer Clinic, Carlton Eakin, Gwen Wingate, Dutch Wingate, and Denise Bates.
Celebrating birthdays in December were: Shirley Harrell, and Diane Gibson.
Members exchanged Christmas gifts of homemade goodies such as candies, cookies, jellies and jams.
After the gift exchange, a delicious luncheon of ham, turkey and dressing prepared by Danna Sue Hadsock and Sandra Sirmons was served. All members contributed complementing dishes or a dessert. Osmus Betts said grace.
All left with Holiday greetings ringing in the season. New officers will begin their duties in the New Year and the Climax Baptist Church will host the meeting in January. Mark your calendar and come to Climax for a good time with the Climax Golden Agers.
