Harry D. Martin, 96, of Bainbridge, passed away Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Bainbridge Health Care.
The memorial service was held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Gerald A. Little officiating. The family received friends immediately following the service. Mr. Martin was born September 16, 1918 in Winston-Salem, NC, the son of Benjamin Rush Martin and Alma Lee Garrett Martin. He was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corps, serving his country from 1938 to 1945. Harry was a member First Presbyterian Church. He was a life-long learner who enjoyed reading.
Survivors include his children, Thomas Gene Martin and his wife, Janet, of Brentwood, Tenn., and Susan Ralph of Bainbridge; his grandchildren, Gwyneth Martin McEuen of Nashville, Tenn., Matthew Bradley Ralph of Tallahassee, Fla., Dr. Alan Gregory Ralph of New Orleans, La., and Jonathan Lee Ralph of Bainbridge; his great-grandchildren, Andrew McEuen of Little Rock, Ark. and Andrienne McEuen Dang, and her husband, Tam, of Clarksville, Tenn.; and his great-great-grandchildren, Amelia Tam-Anh Dang, Haven McEuen, and Brooklyn McEuen.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Martin was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Virginia Jefferson Martin and his eight siblings.
Ivey Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
