Services for Otis Edward Gibson will be conducted Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 3:30 p.m. at Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 442 Piney Grove Road in Whigham, with Rev. Harry Mitchell officiating. Interment will be at Open Pond Cemetery, Climax. Active pallbearers are: Rackeem Miller, Ricky Parrish, Joe Smith, Eric Parrish, Carrell Parrish and Collin Leaks Jr. Honorary pallbearers are Jerry Russell and Rosell Jones Sr.
Mr. Gibson departed this life on January 13, 2015. Otis was the son of the late Mr. Romary Daniel Gibson and Maude Peacock Gibson. He received his education in the Dougherty County School System and worked as a mechanic for most of his life. He married Ollie Jackson early in life, but spent his later years with Ms. Rosa Parrish.
Survivors include his friend, Rosa Parrish of Climax; daughters Tereka (Tiffany) Gibson of Hinesville, Ga., Valiere (Darnell) Howell of Albany; sons, Ronald (Caroline) Brown of Albany, Bobby Parrish, Climax, Ricky (Jennette) Parrish of Bainbridge, Gregory (Denise) Parrish of Climax, Anthony (Reyonna) Parrish of Tallahassee; daughter, Veronia (Trent) Miller of Bainbridge; 37 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and numerous sorrowing nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
