This past weekend, Bainbridge travelled to Cairo for the Individual Region Championships and performed strongly.
After the first round of competition, all 13 wrestlers on the BHS team advanced to round two. During the second round, two wrestlers dropped out but 11 advanced to the semifinals. Of those 11 whom advanced, six of them were wrestling for the Region Championship.
Tristan Manley, Hayden Guy, Ashton Cato, Tyler Storey, Tramaine McCray and Ryan Adams all were wrestling for the gold medal.
After all was said and done, Guy, Cato and Storey were declared region champs. Ryan, McCray and Manley finished second with Latavius Baker, Josh Williams and Tanner Brown placing third.  The top four from region get to advance to the state sectionals in Fayetteville this weekend, which included Grayson Heard and Hunter Odom. In order to advance to the state finals, wrestlers must finish in the top eight of the sectionals tournament.
