Lady Cats continue win streak, dominate Worth Co., TCC

The Bainbridge High School Lady Cats posted two impressive weekend basketball victories over the visiting Worth County High School Lady Rams and the home standing Thomas County Central High School Lady Yellow Jackets.
They downed the Lady Rams 76-18 and defeated the Lady Yellow Jackets 77-24.
The Lady Cats, who are 20-4 overall and 9-0 in Region 1-AAAA play, will host the Americus-Sumter County High School Lady Panthers in their final regular season game of the season. The Lady Panthers also have a 6-0 regular season record and are tied with the lady Cats for first place in the Region. The winner will be the Region regular season champion.
The Lady Cats took command early Friday, jumping out to a quick 6-0 lead. Patra Parris opened the scoring with a layup just 10 seconds into the game. Beonka Madge followed with a jumper from the left baseline at the 7:10 mark and Asia hit a layup off the right glass at the 6:20 mark to make it 6-0. The Lady Cats led 12-2 at the end of the first quarter and continued to lead by double digits the rest of the way.
The Lady Cats put four players in double figures Friday. Madge and Nadia Marshall scored 14 points apiece, Patra Parris added 11 and Alexandria Carter put in 10.
Saturday night against the Lady Yellow Jackets, Parris led the way with 24, Marshall added 18 and Gordon and Madge put in eight apiece.
“We are really gearing up for our Friday game with Americus-Sumter County,” Lady Cats coach Kelvin Cochran said. “All of our players are competing a t a high level and contributing.
“Americus-Sumter County is also very good and I am sure they will also be ready. The game should be very competitive with first place in Region 1-AAAA on the line.”
