Mr. W.H. Phillips, 83, of Bainbridge died Friday, March 20, 2015, at his residence. Funeral services were Sunday, March 22, 2015, at 3 p.m. at Colquitt Freewill Baptist Church with Elder Bridgeman Harris, Elder Jim Dixon, and Billy Kimbrel officiating. Interment followed in the Colquitt City Cemetery with Jason Mann, Michael Chesnut, Trey Bryan, Matt Bryan, Will Bryan, Dave Tennyson, Glen Tennyson, Patrick Griffin, Gunnar Griffin and Kevin Rentz serving as pall bearers. Visitation was Sunday, March 22, 2015, from 2-3 p.m. at Colquitt Freewill Baptist Church.
Mr. Phillips was a minister at Pilgrims Rest Primitive Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Griffin Phillips of Bainbridge; three daughters, Jan (Mike) Calhoun of Colquitt, Cindy (Julian) Mann of Albany, and Nancy (Dozier) Tabb of Buffalo, Wyoming; two step-sons, Craig (Emily) Griffin of Bainbridge, and Keith (Tammy) Griffin of Bainbridge; 18 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Bill (Carol) Bryan of Leary, Ga.; and one sister, Edith Ann (David) Tennyson of Albany.
Mr. Phillips was preceded in death by his parents, William Clarence and Eunie Phillips Bryan; the mother of his children, Joy Harper Phillips, and one grandson, Justin Calhoun.
