Catherine Louise Ouzts Drew, age 87, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2015, at Memorial Manor in Bainbridge, Georgia. Services for Mrs. Drew will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, April 9, 2015, at Eastside Baptist Church in Cairo, Georgia. The Rev. Carl Harrell will officiate. Caylor Ouzts, Robb Ouzts, Sam Billingsley, Drew Billingsley, Shane Reynolds, and Sheffield Reynolds will serve as pallbearers. Larry Ouzts and Ronald Ouzts will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends one hour before the service, beginning at 10. The service will conclude at the church. Catherine will be interred in Greenwood Cemetery.
Catherine Louise Ouzts was born November 1, 1927, to James William (Dud) Ouzts and Annie Miller Ouzts. She was a graduate of Cairo High School class of 1945. Catherine was married to Robert Lee (Bobby) Drew. Bobby passed away in 1984. Catherine first worked as a nurse in Cairo and then nursed in Bainbridge for 52 years. After retirement, she returned to Cairo to live. Mrs. Drew was a member of Midway Baptist Church, Senior Adult Sunday School, and their Young at Heart Senior group. Recently, after her mobility was limited, she began attending Eastside Baptist Church with her daughter and the Willing Workers Sunday School class. She enjoyed her time volunteering at the Grady County Help Agency.
Catherine Drew is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Christy and Andy Cadwell; grandchildren, Sam Billingsley and wife, Shauna of Franklin, Tennessee, Kay Billingsley Reynolds and husband, Shane of Dacula, Georgia, and Ch (Cpt) Robert Drew Billingsley and wife, Sarah of Ft. Polk, Louisiana; sister and brother-in-law, Wylene and Larry Harrison of Bainbridge; brothers and sister-in-laws, Rufus and Betty Ouzts of Cairo and Gene and Jean Ann Ouzts of Climax, Georgia; sister-in-laws, Earlene Ouzts and Margaret Ouzts, both of Cairo; great-grandchildren, Claire and Luke Billingsley, Sheffield and Susan Reynolds, and Alex, Aaron and Aiden Billingsley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Hilda Ouzts, and brothers, A.J., James W. (Junior) Ouzts, Jr., and Leroy Ouzts.
