GCA Track and field grabs 11 first place finishes at region meet

The Grace Christian Academy Track and Field team showed up to the GISA AA Region meet in flying colors, with 11 team and individual first place finishes. The performance has qualified GCA for the State Meet.
On the Lady Cougars team, Kelsey Harrell placed third and Carly Godwin placed fourth in the 100-meter dash. For the 200-meter dash, Kelsey also placed third.
In the 400-meter dash, Perra Harrell came in with a first place finish in a time of 1:09.50. Eliza Butler placed third.
In the 800-meter dash, Perra Harrell flew in at first place in a time of 2:52.80. Perra also placed second on the triple jump. Kaitlyn Holcombe came in second at discus.
In the 4-by-100-meter relay, the team of Kelsey Harrell, Holcombe, Godwin and Perra came in third place. In the 4-by-400-meter relay, Godwin, Butler, Holcombe and Perra came in third.
The Cougars team had a high number of first place finishes. Brent Warr came in first in the 100-meter dash in a time of 11.58. He also placed first in the 200-meter dash in a time of 24.59.
Dakota Vickers placed second in the 400-meter dash. Blake Holley claimed first in the 800-meter dash in a time of 2:25.68, with Jack McRae coming in at third.
Austin Lambert was first to cross the finish line in the 1600-meter run in a time of 5:18. T.J. Dudley placed second. Lambert came back to claim first place again in the 3200-meter run with a time of 11:30. Dudley was right behind him to claim second place.
In the shot put, Jack McRae placed second and Ryan Holley placed fifth.
The team Sam McRae, Blake Holley, Austin Lambert and T.J. Dudley placed fourth in the 4-by-400-meter relay race. The team of Dakota Vickers, Noah Thomas, Austin Lambert and Jack McRae were quick on their feet to claim first place in the 4-by-400-meter relay in a time of 3:56.56.
The GISA AA State Meet will be held in Albany on April 30-May 2. The team is coached by Wayne Shiver.
