Decatur Co. hires interim county administrator

The Decatur County Board of Commissioners unanimously voted Tuesday to hire Perry Henry of Perry L. Henry, LLC as the interim county administrator.
Henry currently works as a CPA for Decatur County and assists in analyzing the financial aspects of the county.
“He will help with the financial management of the county operation and will help with some of the decision making along with the commissioners,” Decatur County Board Chairman Dennis Brinson said.
Brinson and the rest of the Decatur County staff will have a meeting with Henry Friday at 9 a.m. at the County Commission Building to begin his interim position.
“He has been here working with the county staff,” Brinson said. “They know him. We are not expecting to utilize his services that long. April 30, we can start really beginning to look at all the applicants and moving forward with that process.”
Brinson said the process of narrowing down the applicants for the full-time county administrator position will begin shortly.
Henry will be temporarily filling the vacant position left by Gary Breedlove, who announced his resignation as county administrator April 1. His resignation goes into effect April 30.
Henry is manager of the firm and is a CPA, CGFM, CFS with over 17 years of professional experience in public accounting. He is a member of the AICPA and Georgia Society of CPA’s. He has degrees from Darton College and Troy University and started his public accounting career in Bainbridge in August 1994 by accepting a staff accountant position with then Lee and Mann, CPAs and is now in the same building operating his firm known as Perry L. Henry, LLC.
Henry works with clients on a very wide array of services from computer services to tax to audit to specialized fraud investigations.
His office is located on Shotwell Street.
