Last week, a team of Bainbridge Public Safety investigators recovered a quantity of crack cocaine during a narcotics investigation.

“We got information that [Kendall] Gibson would be delivering cocaine in the area of the Bearcats Express on Calhoun Street, and we got surveillance of the area,” said BPS investigator Chip Nix.

Nix said that he and investigators Captain Mark Esquivel and Chris Jordan saw Gibson, of Bainbridge, and Calvin O’Neal James, of Attapulgus, on a bicycle at the gas station.

Gibson was arrested and charged with controlled substance – possession with intent to distribute cocaine (felony), and James was charged with controlled substance – possession of cocaine (felony).

The investigators seized “plastic sandwich bag containing several pieces of crack cocaine,” according to an incident report. Nix said that it was “an amount that would be indicative of distribution.”

Almost a week later, a traffic stop led to the arrest of a Bainbridge man and woman after a BPS officer found crack cocaine in the vehicle.

Officer Charles Strickland was made aware Thursday that Christie Lean Johnson was driving a vehicle without the permission of the owner, according to an incident report.
Strickland found crack cocaine and drug related objects frequently used with crack cocaine, according to Nix.

Johnson was arrested and charged with controlled substance – possession of cocaine (felony) and controlled substance – possession of drug related objects.

The passenger of the vehicle, Robert Wayne Parker, was also arrested and charged with controlled substance – possession of drug related objects.
