Janelle Poitevint Mills, 89, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at her residence.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 24, 2015 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Medley officiating. Interment will follow at Oak City Cemetery with J. Mills, Curt Mills, Wayne Poitevint, Herman Mills, David Rach, and Keith Luce serving as active pallbearers.

Mrs. Mills was born June 4, 1926 in Camilla, Ga., the daughter of Arthur Wilder Poitevint and Nannie Mae Singleton Poitevint. She was a graduate of Hopeful High School, was a homemaker, and a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include her sons, Don Mills and his wife, Sue, of Tallahassee, Fla., Jerry Mills and his wife, Diane, of Bainbridge,  and Roger Mills and his wife, Joyce, of Colquitt, Ga.; her daughter, Deborah M. Perkins and her husband, John, of Tallahassee; her sister, Annette Thomas of Bainbridge; her grandchildren, Christie Perkins Luce, Amanda Perkins, Curt Mills, Mary Alice Mills, J. Mills, Sarah Mills, and Janet Mills Jacobs; and her great-grandchildren, Carson Luce, Dillon Luce, and Allyson Mills.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Mills; her brothers, James Poitevint, Clyde Poitevint, George Poitevint, and Elmer Poitevint; and her sister, Inez P. Stevens.
