Thursday night two Decatur County men were arrested after a narcotics investigation Bainbridge Public Safety conducted in response to complaints of illegal activity.
According to the incident report, BPS received “numerous” complaints that narcotics were being sold in the parking lot of Elberta Crate and Box Company on Dothan Road.
Investigators Chris Jordan and Captain Mark Esquivel began conducting surveillance Thursday evening and observed two men enter a vehicle in the parking lot during a dinner break at 7:30 p.m.
The investigators observed the two males sitting inside the vehicle and people approach the vehicle on foot and in other vehicles. They also saw the passenger exit and approach other vehicles and the driver throw an item into another car.
Tramias Kirkland of Bainbridge and Aaron Allen Jones of Attapulgus were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. Ultimately, the charges against Jones were dropped due to lack of evidence.
Investigators are seeking an arrest warrant for Kirkland for the felony offense of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
